President’s Awards – 2nd Qtr 2024

Congratulations to the second quarter 2024 President’s Award recipients, Deb Stiker, Stephen Santiago, and Ivan Pavlovic!

Deb Stiker earned April’s President’s Award for exemplifying our values of collaboration, commitment, and creativity. SMS has held a reputation for decades as experts in the field of network engineering supporting the DoD, and for over a decade Deb’s work has contributed greatly to that reputation. In April, she received an outstanding recognition from our customer that demonstrates the effect she has on our customer and the people around her: “Ms. Stiker stands as a cornerstone in the network management domain, revered as one of the go-to experts. Her exceptional contributions, notably in meticulously documenting network diagrams for seamless continuity, have been instrumental in the triumphs of our unit. Beyond her technical acumen, she has embraced the role of mentor, generously imparting her expertise and patiently addressing inquiries from fellow airmen, thereby nurturing a team of skilled and adept professionals in network operations.” Thank you for everything you do for SMS and our customers, Deb!

SMS is pleased to recognize Stephen Santiago for earning May’s President’s Award for exemplifying our values of creativity, collaboration, and commitment in everything he does. Stephen’s impact on the contract could be felt almost immediately with significant process improvements he facilitated in recruiting, training compliance, and contract deliverables. In May, Stephen filled in as the acting Program Manager while the PM was on an extended leave. There were many balls in the air when Stephen took the reins to include SAV (Staff Assistance Visit), CSSP (Cyber Security Service Provider) inspection, OCONUS PMI (Preventive Maintenance Inspection), and normal day to day interactions with the customer. Stephen didn’t skip a beat and continued to drive things forward. He is an innovative team member who gets results, builds team trust, and understands the importance of creating a positive environment for all team members. In his relatively short tenure at SMS, Stephen has made a tremendous impact- we appreciate you keeping things organized and running smoothly! I would like to extend my thanks to Stephen for his exceptional dedication, positivity, and outstanding support. His friendly demeanor and willingness to assist have made a significant impact on the work dynamics and have undoubtedly contributed to our collective achievements.

Congratulations to Ivan Pavlovic with June’s President’s Award for exemplifying our values of creativity, collaboration, and commitment. Ivan has built a positive relationship with customers and among his team. His knowledge and foresight enable the continuation of superior support to the customers. Recently, the Leadership said about Ivan, “We are encouraged to see a team working together and producing a quality product during contract transitioning and a rapid turnaround, during a time in which people are moving into new jobs and new staff onboarding.” Upon taking over the PM role, Ivan realized there was a lack of documentation for new PMs to follow so he started working with his Regional Director (RD) to document processes and procedures. So far, Ivan has created 26 new processes/procedures which PMs can utilize across the SMS enterprise. Thank you and great work, Ivan!!
