President’s Awards – 3rd Quarter 2022

Each month via SPOTLIGHT, our employee engagement platform, SMS President Matt Rosecan recognizes employees who demonstrate our values of collaboration, commitment, and creativity. Congratulations to the President’s Award recipients for the third quarter 2022, Lew Devlin, Chris Partridge, and Gabe Galvan!

Lew Devlin’s role providing security and compliance for our Cisco/Gruntwork project involved developing a compliance matrix mapping CIS benchmarks to various standards such as FedRAMP and NIST. This matrix is essential for SMS to map any potential customers’ compliance needs. Additionally, Lew stepped in when SMS faced a challenging ISO 20000 audit re-certification. For several days in July, Lew led an internal audit to ensure our processes and documentation would meet the ISO standards necessary for our re-certification. For his broad impact in a multitude of areas, Lew is the recipient of the July President’s Award for demonstrating our values of collaboration, commitment, and creativity. Thank you for your outstanding contributions, Lew!

August was an extremely busy month at SMS Headquarters for proposal writing, and Chris Partridge was at the forefront of developing effective and creative content for multiple concurrent proposal responses for complex requirements, for both new work and critical recompetes. As such, Chris is recognized as the August President’s Award recipient for demonstrating our values of collaboration, commitment, and creativity.  Since joining SMS three years ago as a Solutions Architect, Chris has shown an exceptional ability to conceptualize and write to complex Government requirements, often multiple efforts concurrently and under severe time restraints. Chris’s background in service delivery gives him key insight to the problems faced by our Service Delivery managers. Thanks to his contributions over the past several years, we have been successful on numerous proposal efforts, including contracts at LA Air Force Base and Hanscom Air Force Base. Thank you, Chris!

Gabe Galvan is the recipient of the September President’s Award for demonstrating our values of collaboration, commitment, and creativity. Gabe consistently takes on engineering projects and deployments that are complex, large, and unplanned. He uses those projects as opportunities to expand his knowledge and add to his experience. Gabe adapts efficiently to customer needs and focuses on making his team better, actions that align well with how SMS creates successful programs and solves challenging customer problems. During the month of September, Gabe completed 3 projects, actively worked 9 additional projects as the Project Lead, and supported an additional 3 projects within the router team. In addition, Gabe takes on day-to-day network operational challenges with his Sr. level troubleshooting skills. He also demonstrated flexibility and dedication when moving from Montgomery, AL, to San Antonio, TX, earlier this year by continuing to support the customer and his team remotely. Gabe’s flexibility set a precedent for future remote opportunities with a customer who had not previously supported regionally displaced contractors. Thank you, Gabe!
