President’s Awards – 4th Quarter 2024

Each month via SPOTLIGHT, our employee engagement platform, SMS President Matt Rosecan recognizes employees who demonstrate our values of collaboration, commitment, and creativity. Congratulations to the third quarter 2024 President’s Award recipients, Brenda Arnold, Andrew Murrietta, and Eric Blodgett!

SMS is thrilled to recognize Brenda Arnold with October’s President’s Award for exemplifying our values of creativity, collaboration, and commitment. Brenda has been with SMS for one year supporting the Army’s Allied Information Technology (AIT) program. In the month of October, Brenda received multiple letters of praise from our Government customers on AIT, including our Deputy Product Lead and our Product Lead. Our Deputy Lead wrote: “Brenda’s performance has been amazing…She is knowledgeable about all facets of the AIT financial data and processes, and she has maintained the exceptionally high AIT financial OPTEMPO all the way through the 4th Quarter”, and our Product Lead wrote: “Brenda is unfailingly positive and solution-oriented in the face of a daunting workload. She is responsive, communicates well both internally and with external organizations, and has been a source of continuity and consistency on the AIT budget team. Brenda is a critical member of the AIT team!” That is high praise, Brenda! Thank you for your outstanding support and for representing SMS so well!

Andrew Murrietta received November’s President’s Award for exemplifying our values of creativity, collaboration, and commitment. Andrew celebrated six years with SMS in November supporting our Air Force Research Laboratory PRsISM program, and his journey has been nothing short of inspiring. Starting on the helpdesk, he transitioned to the Windows Sysadmin team and eventually stepped up to a critical mission-facing role, taking on support and administration for the contracting systems. This role presented unique challenges, but Andrew’s dedication, expertise, and drive turned it into a resounding success, ensuring the success of the contract modification. Andrew’s leadership, adaptability, and willingness to take on pivotal roles have made a lasting impact. Our team and customers are fortunate to have him as part of this mission. Thank you for your unwavering commitment and the outstanding contributions you’ve made over the past 6 years. Here’s to your continued success, Andrew!

I am pleased to recognize Eric Blodgett with December’s President’s Award for exemplifying our values of creativity, collaboration, and commitment. Eric has been with SMS for six years supporting our Air Force task order as team lead for our outstanding BITI Wireless team, while also working closely with our exceptional FER (Field Engineering Representative) team. He recently stepped up his already exemplary contributions by taking over both the engineering and deployment of the BITI (Base Information Transport Infrastructure) Recap 2 upgrade solution for the Air Force after the previous contractor was issued a stop work order. Eric reconfigured controller clusters at Wright-Patterson and Scott Air Force Bases and led the pilot deployment at Langley AFB; teams are being sent to Scott and Ramstein Bases in the coming weeks for installations. The previous contractor made almost no progress on this task for three years, while Eric and his team have gotten the ball rolling with a schedule to get it done by May of 2025 after starting in late November! Thank you, Eric, for your outstanding work!!
