Mr. Thomas Kupiec was appointed to the newly created position of Chief Information Security Officer effective January 4th 2013 and will be based out of SMS’ Mclean, Virginia office. Mr. Kupiec brings over 23-years’ experience with the federal government, supporting information technology security and IT program management. Most recently, Thomas served the past 10 years at the National Geospatial Intelligence Agency (NGA) as the Chief Information Security Officer and as the Senior Security Advisor. During his tenure at the NGA, Thomas was a senior member of the Director of National Intelligence Information Security Risk Management Committee, Defense Information Systems Network Flag Panel, Presidential Committee on National Security Systems, and frequent advisor to the Office of Management and Budget and White House cyber security staff.
